If some sections do not specify percentage of total, then the points are summed and the percentages are automatically calculated for those sections. If you do not like the automatic calculation, you will have to specify the percentage you want for a given portion.

General usage:
Sections: Each section is described on a new line.
Section name: Provide a section name followed by a colon.
Negative marks: Put a minus sign before the section name to show percentages by negative marks. This can be helpful if you have the value of wrong answers.
Marks: Click the number of marks for each section to view the final grade of a given student.
Percent: Use the % sign and a value to anchor any section to a specific percentage.
